‘Energy transition – the world with a growing national resource demand’ - Ter ere van het 25e Lustrum van de 'Mijnbouwkundige Vereeniging', de studievereniging van Applied Earth Sciences, wordt er op dinsdag 21 november 2017 een internationaal georiënteerd symposium georganiseerd in Delft. Het thema van dit symposium is 'Energy transition, the world with a growing natural resource demand'. Het doel van dit thema is om de toekomst van ons vakgebied, met strengere regels voor CO2-uitstoot en wereldwijde toenemende vraag naar energie, te belichten. Het is belangrijk om in te zien dat de grondstoffen industrie zich zal moeten aanpassen aan de uitdagingen van de 21e eeuw. Met dit symposium hopen wij meer inzicht te krijgen in hoe deze aanpassingen kunnen, of moeten, plaatsvinden.

‘Energy transition – the world with a growing national resource demand’ - For the celebration of the 25th Lustrum of the ‘Mijnbouwkundige Vereeniging’, the study association of Applied Earth Sciences, an internationally oriented symposium will be held on the 21st of November 2017 in Delft. The theme of this symposium will be ‘Energy transition, the world with a growing natural resource demand’. Our goal is to emphasize the next steps towards a future with stringent CO2-emission quota linked to a growing world population and a corresponding increased demand for energy. It is important to see how the industry will, or must, adapt and respond to the challenges of the 21st century.
