As part of efforts to promote excellent Chinese traditional culture overseas, Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province organized an European Performance Tour of Tea Picking Opera in April 2019. The last stop will be Delft, the Nederlands on Apr 29, including performance of “Tea Picking Opera” as well as show of a Photo Exhibition about Nanchang Culture and Tourism.

Traditional Chinese "Tea-Picking" Opera comes to Delft on April 29th.

Developed from local folk dances and songs, the Tea-picking Opera representative of all tea-picking operas in Jiangxi province. The opera is humorous and portrays people's daily lives.The Tea-picking Opera is very important for the study of language, art, folk culture and customs. Nowadays, there are less and less people interested in learning how to perform the Tea-picking Opera, so it is in great need of protection.
