Integer, kwetsbaar, van tijd tot tijd grappig en vooral heel verrassend - Bijna iedereen heeft in een sombere bui wel eens genoten van de sonore stem en de slepende ballads van Leonard Cohen. Zijn liedjes, waarin de vermaarde Canadese singer-songwriter het gevoel van mislukking, melancholie en verlangen draaglijk maakt, zijn als een weldadige balsem op de ziel. In dit dansconcert voegt de Deense choreograaf Palle Granhøj een visueel aspect toe aan Cohens stemmingen en sferen. Met elf dansers/musici/zangers creëert hij een sober, Cohenesk universum van zacht schrijnend verdriet. "Seldom has this choreographer moved its spectator as much as in this burning crossover performance. Here, words become songs, music becomes pictures and pain transforms into beauty", schreef de Deense pers.
